Recognizes outstanding Gender and Women's Studies Undergraduate major or minor, and a Graduate minor with an annual award of $250. Seniors or graduate students who will be graduating in the spring are not eligible to be nominated for this award.

GWS Outstanding Student Award Application Guidelines
The Department of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign invites nominations for the GWS Outstanding Student Award. Letters of nomination may come from faculty, academic professionals, staff, and students from across campus, and should nominate a GWS Major or Minor. Letters should address one or more of the following areas, but may take into consideration other characteristics you deem important:
- Scholarship
- Event Planning
- Public Service
- Creativity
- Organizational Leadership
- Visionary
